Elevate your cocktails – and your sensibilities – with The Heretic 75

At Heretic we have watched our spirits grow and develop over the past few years. They’re a product of our own imagination and we’ve raised them from the ground up with love, care, and a tremendous amount of pride. Now, as our vodka and gin are making a name for themselves across the province in liquor stores and restaurants, we thought the next logical step was to help introduce our spirits into your homes. What better way to do that than with simple and spectacular cocktail recipes that anyone can enjoy? When creating these recipes, we wanted to keep the same level of love and devotion that went into producing our gin and vodka, because that’s what our spirits deserve.

These cocktails are our babies, and like any good parent, we don’t have a favourite amongst them … or, at least that’s what we tell them. That being said, every family has one child that stands out above the rest – a golden goose, if you will. The Heretic 75 is our golden goose. It may seem like a highbrow drink that demands some sort of special occasion to enjoy, but once you’ve tasted it, you’ll see why having this cocktail IS the special occasion. The Heretic 75 really is nothing short of amazing. The combination of gin and citrus is something that any respectable bartender can rely on, but the addition of sparkling wine takes this drink into an entirely different echelon of the cocktail hierarchy.

When serving a round of these beautiful beverages, we suggest offering a range of cured meats, olives, and cheeses. However, in order to get the most out of this pairing, we recommend straying from your ordinary charcuterie assortment and offering a spicier selection. Heat is something that a lot of people can be cautious with, but you’re in good hands with The Heretic 75. The sugars of this drink help to tame any spice levels that may be too overpowering and help cleanse your palate with each sip. In doing this, spicier foods become more pleasant, and a door is opened to a culinary category that you may have previously ignored.

With a storied past, and a reputation to live up to, this recipe is one that we are very excited to display with our gin. A cocktail for any season that has stood the test of time and offered refreshment to generation after generation. With The Heretic 75, we’re ensuring that this remarkable recipe will be appreciated for its history and its future.
